Gumby is a favorite at my house. We own several. I originally bought 2 for my dogs that live with my ex, but my then foster dog, Larkin, found them and fell in love with them. Larkin became a foster failure, and Gumby became a permanent fixture wherever she is. Larkin is a lab, and she has 2 more lab siblings, plus a silky that rules them all. Gumby isn’t built to last. My 2 have because no one touches Larkin’s favorite toy, and she chooses to be gentle with those. He is totally worth the money in my opinion, though. I just bought two more as Christmas gifts.

My dog loved Gumby, alas, the affair was short lived. Gumby arrived this afternoon, and in under an hour he had lost his stuffing, his squeaker and a leg. Or maybe it’s an arm, hard to tell in his current state as a multiple amputee. I know dogs are hard on toys they love, that’s kind of the point, but Mr. Bill (purchased from Amazon a few weeks ago) is still in one piece and my dog loves him too. Granted she ripped his speaker out so he no longer says, “oh no”, but there is a silver lining there. If your dog has teeth, skip Gumby.

Gumby has been in my home for about two weeks now. My dog grabbed Gumby out of my hand when I took it out of the box and it has become his new favorite toy. Everywhere that he goes in the house, Gumby is hanging out of his mouth. If he is laying down somewhere, Gumby isn’t far away. He treats this toy different than the other ones that I have purchased for him. It’s not a chew toy to him and he doesn’t throw it around. He just holds it in his mouth. All the time. It’s just odd but we are going with it because it seems to make him happy.I am going to be purchasing a couple of more of these to stash back sometime in the next day or two because if something happens to Gumby, that dog is going to flip his lid.
